Temporary Insanity

Whether it's a midlife crisis, temporary insanity, a fluke of nature or perhaps me just becoming more of a risktaker, I overcame a fear and went on Niagara Fall's Pile Driver.

(That's what this is).

Oh my goodness, it was the biggest adrenaline rush I think I've ever experienced. I think I opened my eyes for about ten seconds at the top because my friend Greg, who came with me, convinced me the view was magnificent. Oh yeah, it was great alright, and it would have been even better if I didn't know I was going to drop any second. Those moments are the most frightening moments I think anybody can ever experience. Though we didn't really drop, persay, I think the people running the ride knew I was afraid, so they let us down easier than usual. I was grateful.

So the goal of going on Pile Driver was to prepare me for Dropzone at Canada's Wonderland. After Pile Driver, I can honestly say I am not sure Dropzone lays in the near future for a Chrissy Dennis, who's feet are still shaking, and who's pulse is probably still off the charts.

Next time you see Darren ask him to tell you about the time he "took" Chuck on Drop Zone. That story will make you laugh AND cry at the same time!
